How did different factors combine to bring about the repeal of prohibition?

So I have covered the main factors that led to the repeal of prohibition in December 1933.

repeal of prohibtion

However many of them are linked. The lack of public support for prohibition meant a large demand for liquor which brung in the role of organised crime to illegally bootleg the liquor.

As there was lack of support for prohibition this led to many problems enforcing the law, as people wanted to drink alcohol. As there was a lack of public support this also led to political parties like the Democrats to support prohibition repeal in order to gain the public’s vote.

Also as people changed their attitudes towards prohibition, that led to political parties supporting reform and eventually the government giving a referendum on prohibition.

The role of organised crime also led to problems enforcing to law and led to some people changing their attitudes to prohibition, like Pauline Sabine did after the Valentines Day massacre.

How do you think different factors combined to bring about the repeal of prohibition?
